A Poem: Ode To The Hot Flash

This is my first poem. Do. Not. Judge. Me.

Hot Flash

Damn you to hell

You keep me awake at night

I sweat so much I smell

You enrage me

You make me out of control

I toss and turn nightly

I get out of bed to take a walk

I do not recommend you highly

You make my face break out

You make my mood freak out

Hot Flash *mic drop*

Peace

  1. Hey Sassypanties, there’s a kid picking her nose in your avatar-whoozy-ma-whatzit. Nice poem. I like it (see like box above). Well, I musta had hot flashes too, because I still haven’t gone to bed and it’s 6:00 AM. Hope you sleep better tonight or at least get a nap or something. Cool. I’m outtie…. *mic drop*

  2. Very nice poem! I’m wondering if the hot flashes skipped over me. Here I am much much older than you and still nothing. Sleep alludes me often but that’s mostly due to worrying. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will just stop one day:)

This poem made me think of Mike Meyers in “So I Married An Axe Murderer” and (sorry) I laughed while reading this. You do write with a comedic edge, so it was warranted (for me) to chuckle. 🙂 Nicely done

I’m glad you laughed. When you write a poem at 2:45 am because you woke up from night sweats, you hope that you get *some* kind of reaction. But – I’ll step away from poetry and leave it to folks like you who are actually GOOD at it!

Poetry is simply a song w/o music. Anybody can do it… 🙂 Give it a shot. Challenge yourself. 🙂

THAT is freakin’ awesome. Also reminded me of Eddie Murphy in “Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood.” “KILL MY LANDLORD!”
